Course Description

This basic maintenance course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of analog aircraft instruments. Beginning with the basic design, it’s components and possible errors of a pitot static systems, followed by the main barometric instruments: altimeter, vertical speed indicator and airspeed indicator. The next chapter addresses magnetism, from the earth’s magnetic field to adjustment and compensation of direct reading compasses. Under gyroscopic instruments we cover the basic gyro principles and their application to indicate attitude, turns and direction. The last chapter of this course explains engine indication in general applicable for jet and turboprop and also for piston engines. The course concludes with a comprehensive multiple- choice questionnaire allowing the participant to test his acquired knowledge.
