Course Description
This course provides an introduction to propeller maintenance for piston engines. It covers the fundamentals of propellers and the forces acting on them. The course also discusses construction methods and materials used in propeller design.
Additionally, it includes topics such as the reduction gearbox and different types of propellers. The course explores the propeller spinner, as well as feathering and reverse pitch mechanisms. Overspeed protection is also addressed, along with synchronizing and synchrophasing techniques. Fluid and electrical de-icing equipment are covered, along with static and dynamic balancing. Finally, the course includes methods for assessing blade damage.
