Course Description
This course introduces the basics of aerodynamics for aircraft maintenance training. It begins with an overview of the atmosphere and subsonic aerodynamics, covering airflow around bodies, wing shapes, airfoil terminology, and drag. The generation of lift and drag is explored, along with the theory of flight and stability.
The course also includes high-speed aerodynamics, discussing the speed of sound, Mach number, compressibility, shock waves, and air intakes. Additionally, it covers methods to increase maximum lift, decrease the lift-to-drag ratio, and understand stall behavior.
