Route Competence Training - Europe

Course Description

This online course on Route Competence (according requirements of AMC1 ORO.FC.105(b)(2);(c)) covers the procedures and requirements for operating aircraft in European airspace. This includes the use of 8.33 kHz channel-spacing capable radio equipment at or above FL 195, as well as differences in phraseology between ICAO and UK.

The course also covers RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum) procedures and requirements for flight within the EUR RVSM airspace, including the use of Height Monitoring Units (HMUs) and GPS Monitoring Units (GMUs). Additionally, it discusses specific procedures for operating in London and Scottish FIR/UIR, such as position reporting requirements and the use of satellite telephone numbers for emergency communication. The course also covers various winds and weather patterns found around Europe.
