Course Description

As an online Route Competence Training the course covers the Canadian Air Traffic Control (ATC) phraseology and procedures as part of the North American region in the RCT series.

It explains how ATC communicates altitude instructions when entering or leaving controlled airspace, using published Instrument Approach Procedures, or for aircraft destined to airports with no published en-route altitudes. Additionally, it details the differences between FAA and Canadian/ICAO STAR phraseology and procedures. The online training also covers ADS-B usage in Hudson Bay airspace, CPDLC service implementation in Montreal and Edmonton FIRs, and CANPASS, a private aircraft program that simplifies border clearance for travelers from the United States to Canada.
