Icelandic Coast Guard Pilots utilize infoWERK Recurrent eLearning Courseware

The Icelandic Coast Guard (ICG) is responsible for martitime search and rescue in the seas surrounding Iceland. Recently, they've incorporated infoWERK's recurrent flight crew training for their DHC-8-300 maritime surveillance aircraft.

 

In addition to tailored recurrent type training, the Icelandic Coast Guard's flight crew also utilizes infoWERK's courseware for UPRT, ACAS/TCAS, and TAWS, enhancing their capabilities and preparedness.

Within the fleet of DHC-8-300 aircraft, the ICG operates rescue helicopters, offshore patrol vessels, and coastal vessels to conduct rescues both at sea and on land, facilitate urgent medical transport, and offer assistance to boats and ships under the country's jurisdiction.

Among the 250 ICG employees are pilots, aircraft mechanics, engineers, vessel captains, sailors, explosive ordnance specialists, and various experts which are permanently trained in their ICG's headquarters in Reykjavik. Education and training are immensely important for the Coast Guard's operations and its employees participate in frequent exercises to be prepared for the significant and varied every-day responsibilites. infoWERK is happy to have become a part in supporting their education and training program.
