infoWERK software wins 16th Worlddidac Award for Excellence in Education

Zirl, Austria. – June 23rd, 2014

infoWERK Medien & Technik GmbH, one of the global leader in 21st century multmedia-based education, today announced that it has received a 2014 Worlddidac Award for excellence for the multimedia-based system ‚Basic Training for Aviation Maintenance Engineers‘ according to EASA regulations (European Aviation Safety Agency). This software is used by Swiss Aircraft Maintenance Association (SAMA) who proposed the multimedia-based training system (MBT) for the award.

Celebrating its almost 30th year, the Worlddidac Award is the most recognized prize in the education sector and an internationally recognised distinction for educational resources. It is presented every two years to innovative and pedagogically valuable products showing the latest trends in education and the highest potential to improve learning and teaching.

The Worlddidac Award selection process included a review by two separate juries—one jury of teachers and a second international panel of experts in the education technology industry under the lead of Prof. Dr. Peter Gloor from MIT in Massachusetts. Criteria included pedagogic value, design quality, ease of use, innovation, and performance/cost ratio. The participants are companies who offer products and solutions for all levels of education.

„This recognition of excellence from the Worlddidac Foundation with its rigorous selection process is a real honor“, said Franz Meier, Director of the SAMA (Swiss Aircraft Maintenance Association), the proposer organisation for the award. SAMA has been the cooperation partner of Link & Learn Aviation Training GmbH who both commissioned infoWERK Medien & Technik GmbH for the development of the award-winning EASA Part 66 Blended learning software.

Since its introduction the software has gained a lot of favour and encouragement during the past years. Not only the multimedia-based learning content has proven to be outstanding but also its high level of interactivity and not least the complete tracking system for student evaluation in the background (infoWERK’s LMS ‚iv-track‘).

This Worlddidact award reinforces for training organisations everywhere the contribution that the EASA Part 66 training software and its development partners are making to improve training systems and newest professional education within the aviation industry. We are all very happy and proud about this success and look foward to the award ceremony on 28th October 2014.
